Ford is an all-American automotive brand with a rich history starting in 1903. For over a century, this brand has been producing quality vehicles that Americans enjoy driving throughout the times.

Today, a popular sedan is the Ford Fusion. Ford dealerships everywhere are seeing these fly out of their lots!

Are you interested in purchasing the new 2020 Ford Fusion? Then you’re in the right place. We’ll show you a thorough overview so you know if this vehicle is right for you or not.

Available Trims

The 2020 Ford Fusion is a sedan that seats 5. It offers 4 different trims, which means you’ll have a wide range of options that’ll suit your budget. Read on to find out more about each trim, all of which are very affordable.

S Trim

The S trim is the most basic one, so if you have a tight budget, this is great to start with.

Features that come with this trim are front-wheel drive, 6-speed automatic transmission, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a 4-speaker sound system, a 4.2-inch screen, and 1 USB port. The S trim also comes with the Co-Pilot360 suite, which has things like lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

You have the option of adding Co-Pilot360 Assist. Additional features that come with this are dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, and 1 more USB port.

SE Trim

Next is the SE trim, which gets everything the S trim has, plus power-adjustable front seats, a fold-down armrest in the back, a 6-speaker sound system, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 2 USB ports. You’ll also get satellite radio and navigation.

Like with the S trim, you can opt for the Co-Pilot360 Assist option. Another package you can get is the SE All-Wheel-Drive package, which also gives you heated front seats and side mirrors.

SEL Trim

The SEL trim is very similar to the SE trim, but it has keyless ignition and entry, LED headlights, heated front seats, and an 11-speaker sound system. In addition, you get driver seat memory functions, which means you can set up different profiles for each driver.

You can add the Co-Pilot360 Assist package if you want more features.

Titanium Trim

This is the most luxurious trims for the 2020 Ford Fusion. It has everything the SEL trim does, but also heated sport front seats, a sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and a 12-speaker sound system from Sony.

The Co-Pilot360 Assist package comes standard on the Titanium trim, which means you don’t have to pay extra to get these features.

Interior Room

This car offers you lots of comfort, even when you go on long drives. There’s plenty of space; the only exception is that there’s a little less headroom for those on the taller side. You and your passengers will sit on mixed-quality materials, which is sturdy yet comfortable.

If you’re looking for lots of trunk space, then this is the vehicle for you. The 2020 Ford Fusion offers 16 cubic feet of trunk space, which is much more than other cars in this class. You’ll be able to fit everything you want comfortably, whether you’re going on a business trip, shopping trip, or vacation.

Engine Choices

As far as powertrains go for the 2020 Ford Fusion, you have 3 choices: the 2.5L 4-cylinder capable of 175 HP, the turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder capable of 181 HP, or the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder capable of 245 HP.

If you choose the S trim, you’ll get the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. Starting from the SE trim, you’ll get the turbocharged 1.5L engine.

If you want the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, you can opt for the Co-Pilot360 Assist package on the SE and SEL trims. For those who choose the Titanium trim, the turbocharged 2.0L engine comes standard with it.

With the 2.0L engines, you’ll have the extra choice of all-wheel drive in addition to front-wheel drive.

No matter which powertrain you get, you can count on the 2020 Ford Fusion to give you a smooth ride. This is true even if you go over bumpy roads, so you can ride in comfort.

Fuel Efficiency

An important factor in choosing a vehicle is how fuel-efficient it is. If you end up with a gas guzzler, then it could really hurt your wallet for decades to come.

The good news is, the 2020 Ford Fusion is excellent with fuel efficiency! Depending on the trim you choose, you can get anywhere between 21 to 23 MPG in the city and 31 to 34 MPG on the highway.

When compared to other sedans in its class, the Ford Fusion has a solid fuel economy, so you won’t have to worry about spending too much on gas.

Safety

An even more important factor to consider while car shopping is how safe a vehicle is. You want to have peace of mind while on the road, after all.

You’ll be pleased to know that the 2020 Ford Fusion got an overall rating of 5 out of 5 from the NHTSA. It received a 4 out of 5 for the overall front star rating, 5 out of 5 for the overall side star rating, and 4 out of 5 for the rollover star rating. However, the rollover risk is just 10.9%, which isn’t very high compared to other vehicles.

Standard safety features that come with every trim include automated emergency braking, a rearview camera, and lane-keeping assist. And as you know from previous sections, you can add extra safety features with the Co-Pilo360 suite if you wish.
